How We Found a Life Outdoors
My husband and I enjoy the outdoors so much because it is so relaxing, tranquil and we can get away from all the stresses of our daily lives. Whether it is just going for a walk around our neighborhood, riding our golf cart, going to festivals to listen to music, camping, fishing, hiking or going out with friends on a boat. We can put all of the stress behind us and just relax and enjoy the quiet and each other and connect with nature. This photo shows how relaxing it can be to go camping with your family, sitting around a campfire talking, reminiscing about old times and talking about new times. Telling ghost stories or just telling tall tales as long as you are all there together anything goes. From roasting hotdogs over the campfire to roasting marshmallows for smores so many good memories can be made around that fire. Glamping is a lot of fun as well, now you can carry a fancy tent with comfortable mattresses and a smaller tent that is made for a shower/bathroom with shower head and shower water bags and also a portable toilet (don’t forget the biodegradable toilet paper), that is way better than having to go to the bathroom in the woods.
When our kids were young we enjoyed taking them fishing and camping and just spending quality time with them and I know some of that rubbed off on them because they enjoy doing things like that with their children now. Fishing is also relaxing, watching that bobber floating and bobbing in the water is mesmerizing, not only that but the fish are absolutely wonderful to eat especially freshly caught. We have taken them canoeing and tubing down a lazy river as well as camping and hiking. If you are camping close to a river, tubing is so relaxing just floating around but don’t forget to bring a picnic lunch with some drinks so you can stop on the way to have a picnic and maybe play I spy with your family because there are so many things that you will see on the way. See who can spot the most interesting things for y’all to talk about. Canoeing is fun as well, a little more work, but a lot of fun. Paddling is very soothing with the sounds of the water on the canoe and once you and your partner get in a rhythm it is so fun. If you are close to the beach take a walk with your family because there are a lot of interesting things that wash up on the beach, or just look for shells and see who can find the most interesting and odd shaped shells. We enjoy building sand castles and making sand art, always something fun to do at the beach. Don’t forget the sunscreen and possibly a hat for overexposure protection.
Whether you are camping, glamping or just going on a hike, enjoy your time together. Try making your hike fun with a nature scavenger hunt, look for certain leaves, pine cones, acorns, mushrooms, trail markers or even animal tracks. See who can find the most interesting finds and who can find everything on the list. Maybe offer an extra smore after dinner or even some electronic time if it’s available in the area. Another good idea is to have everyone where a whistle around their neck in case someone wonders off the trail they can be found easier. Always make sure that you have drinks and snacks while hiking, it’s a lot of fun to just rest and have a picnic of snacks on the trail, or some trails even have little playgrounds or rest areas to enjoy.
Go out and do something fun and relaxing with your family and friends and make lots of memories
